Hello friends, welcome to the 14th edition of TheHustleBook. Today I want to tell you about reading. I decided to build reading as a habit almost 8 years ago — and this has been one of the best things I did back then.
Below you will read some of my candid thoughts about reading.
Reading gives you the ability to express, to communicate and most importantly it enhances your ability to think about new perspectives about anything and everything
It influences how we express and communicate our knowledge, ideas, emotions, and essentially anything we interact with.
Readers are my favorite bunch of folks irrespective of anything they do in life. You can connect with a reader as if you have known them for years. It’s simply magical.
I feel, reading a book is like having a conversation with the author who could have lived in this world years ago and knows about something you don’t.
Reminds me of what Carl Sagan says about books
I feel reading as a habit needs a strong WHY. I call it “reading for purpose”.
To be honest, working on yourself isn’t easy, be it in the gym, or learning new skills or building a new healthy habit.
You cannot sustain the habit of reading without having a strong “WHY” with you. The WHY, builds a conviction for you. Conviction will make you commit to a process.
And I believe process is super important to achieve goals in life
P.S: Here’s something I have shared about reading on my IG a few months back. Here’s a quick glimpse of it
Reading → Putting into Action
I feel the best way to find your “WHY” is to chase your curiosity. What are you curious about? What is the thing that is bothering you? Are you willing to be better at it? What are some of the greatest minds thinking about it?
I have shared a framework below you can follow
I will publish one more edition on “Reading for Purpose”. Until then take care of yourself. Enjoy your holidays and have fun
If you had a rough 2024, hold onto it, my dear friend 👊
That’s it for this edition. I will see you on the next one very soon
Your friend,
Riten

Reading has been a great habit for me as well. Great that I started doing it since a young age.
Loved this as always ❤️ I also do read but its still not very consistent. Hope to try this out this year. Figuring out the WHY, the lens you will need as you always say💯
