How to take feedback on Proof of Work?
9 essentials points to keep in mind while asking for feedback
Hello friends, welcome to the 8th edition of TheHustleBook, first of all, warm wishes for the new year.
Today I wanted to tell you about taking feedback for your proof of work. Many times we create proof of work but it doesn’t show any results —
1/ you don’t get replies from clients
2/ you ain’t getting that internship
3/ they don’t call you back after the interview
— you are unsure of what went wrong.
That is why you should know this — to create exceptional proof of work, you have to learn from the best who have done it all before you. The learning can be in the form of as simple as asking for feedback
Thus, here are some pointers when you seek feedback from someone you admire:
Please don’t take criticism personally, be thick-skinned
Try to ask for constructive criticism
The way you ASK is the half-battle won. I’m serious.
Please communicate and be specific about your ask — it shows your intention
Try to be useful and compensate if possible for the folks you are asking feedback (sometimes it could be as simple as remembering them in your happy days)
Please take feedback seriously and work on them or share any updates, or else you are simply disrespectful towards them.
Sometimes you are just one feedback away from your next big opportunity.
Fall in love with your projects but please be open to feedback and collaboration opportunities
There is a difference in capabilities and intent, capabilities can sometimes be limited due to various factors like exposure, geography, upbringing, etc. The solution for this is having the right Intent.
Intent will take you places you cannot imagine. Be selfish with personal and professional growth but try to make it win-win and rewarding for the other person as well.
I feel Intentions are always visible in your actions, be sincere and respect the process.
this 2024 - practice intent. Let us all make the most out of it.
